The trunk already carries natural movement - a slight lean and curve from the base up through the low shoots to the second Y-split - rather than growing dead straight, which rules out formal upright. There's no single dramatic bend or cascade to justify a more specialised style (slanting, cascade, literati), and the material is too young and thin for a multi-trunk read. Informal upright is the style this trunk line is already volunteering for, and it's the most forgiving style for a whip this age: it tolerates the leader being chopped and regrown over several seasons as taper develops.
The structure at marker 1 currently has three shoots competing near the same height (the dominant left leader, the subordinate at marker 2, and the weaker third leader at marker 6). Keeping three thick shoots this close together would thicken the top of the trunk and erase taper, so the plan below narrows this to one clear leader with one supporting branch, which is the standard first move on whip material like this.
